If you happen to have some passwords saved in the Evaluation Version please refer to these instructions: before you follow the steps below.
To make sure you have the latest version of MyCodePage, uninstall the Evaluation version first before you install the Authorized version.
After your purchase of MyCodePage Authorized Version, you’ll receive an email with the following: a link to download the latest version of MyCodePage Setup file, your CodePage.cdp and RunReg.sys files, and your first password to access MyCodePage.
We’d like to emphasize that we only provide this email once. Make sure to save and backup these files and password so that you can use these whenever reinstallation is needed.
If no Evaluation is installed prior to installation of Authorized Version:

Important! Please read this before following the steps below
The initial CodePage.cdp file that you received in our email does not include the current data that you have saved in MyCodePage. To include your current and most up to date data first make sure you backup your current data (see step 1).
After backup, your data is saved to this backup file CodePage.cdp. Read more about how to backup your data here:
Reinstall MyCodePage and keep your current data:
Always backup your most recent Codepage.cdp file. To recover a lost file is more difficult than to backup a file.
Note that a clean install means that you start MyCodePage from scratch, without any of your current data! Although this is always possible we still recommend you to keep a backup of your current data so you can refer back to it as needed. Also make sure you know the password to this backup.

There is no limitation as to how long you can use MyCodePage Evaluation Version.
The Evaluation Version is designed to have you try out MyCodePage before you purchase the Authorized Version. Because of this specific purpose we do not recommend saving your most important data using this version. Of course, if you choose to do so we cannot promise you the security that the Authorized Version provides.
Whether you use the Evaluation Version or the Authorized Version, your passwords are always securely encrypted. However, because the Evaluation version has no personal license attached to it, this version doesn’t have the same level of security as the Authorized Version. Data between different Evaluation Version users are exchangeable and that’s exactly the reason why we don’t recommend you to keep your most important passwords with the Evaluation Version.
If you do have data you would like to transfer from Evaluation version to the Authorized version, we recommend you print out your data and manually add them to your Authorized Version after upgrading. This can be done very quickly as the Evaluation Version only allows for up to 10 records of data.
We always recommend our new users to save and backup these files RunReg.sys, CodePage.cdp, and default password, immediately after they receive them in our email for future (re)installations.
We DO NOT provide these files again.
When you create backups regularly in MyCodePage Authorized Version, you can still retrieve your license files by creating a backup of CodePage.cdp and RunReg.sys.
Go to the Menu Bar at the bottom of MyCodePage’s Browser and select
Backup > Export Copy, choose the folder you want the backup file of CodePage.cdp saved to. You can find RunReg.sys here C:\MyCodePage (by default), also backup (copy) this file.
Alternatively, you can create a copy of both CodePage.cdp and RunReg.sys at one go here C:\MyCodePage (by default). Just select, copy, then paste them to a different folder on your computer. Next, preferably save both files on a USB memory stick and/or external hard drive.
More about creating backups and data recovery, see and
With the Export feature it’s possible to backup your data to a safe location on your computer, or an external device such as an USB memory stick or external hard drive.
Importing the data is useful after system recovery for instance, or if you want to restore your older data.
We recommend all of our users to Export (backup) their data regularly to keep their personal data safe in case anything happens to their computer.
Preferably, we suggest to export your data every time you change your password. This way the password of the backup always corresponds with the most current password that’s in use. Create a folder specifically for your backups where you can find them easily on your computer when you need to import them (again).
As mentioned on our MyCodePage page, the access to MyCodePage is secured by your personal password.
Your exported data can only be accessed again with the same password that is used at the time the Export was made. With this in mind, when you Import the Exported data back into MyCodePage you will need the same password you secured it with at Export. Otherwise you would not be able to access MyCodePage.
When you changed your password after Export, you will still need the old password to access your previous data. This is why we recommend to export your data when you’ve changed your password. This way the password of the backup always corresponds with the most current password that’s in use.
If you changed your password prior to importing your old data, you should use your old password to access this old data.
However, if you did not change your password, please verify that the imported data is the latest backup of your data. And that it’s not by any chance a much older back up. If the latter is the case, and you don’t remember the password to that (much older) one, import the most recent data that you know the password of. In order to access the old data you wanted to import in the first place, you need to first access MyCodePage with any backup file that you know the password of. Now access MyCodePage with this password you know.
Once you have accessed MyCodePage you can find the backup file CodePage.cdp that you wanted to import in the first place and import it. Go to the Menu Bar at the bottom of MyCodePage’s Browser and select Backup > Import Copy.
After import, the password to this backup will show on screen, please remember this password.
As long as you can access MyCodePage again, you are always able to import data that you saved from any point in time.
We always recommend to export your data after you changed your password so that the password of the backup always corresponds with the most current password.
If however you can’t remember any of the passwords, follow these instructions: .
Always backup your most recent Codepage.cdp backup file, even when you want to do a clean install. Remember to always backup your data before system recovery, new or reinstallation, and password edit.
To recover a lost file is more difficult than to backup a file.
To back up your file go to the Menu Bar at the bottom of MyCodePage’s Browser and select Backup > Export Copy, then choose the location where you want the backup saved to. This back up file is named CodePage.cdp.
Please make sure you know the password to this current CodePage.cdp back up file.
Create a folder specifically for your backups where you can find them easily on your computer when you need to import them (again).
The process to restoring your old(er) data is the same as the process described here:
Recovering passwords is not part of our service, because this is not consistent with our security and privacy policy towards our customers.
Follow these instructions (below) to self-recover your password.
In order to prevent from losing your password in the future, keep these simple steps in mind:
If you followed our advice to backup your data regularly, it’s certainly possible to recover your latest password and the corresponding data.
Please follow these instructions to recover your password and your most recent data.
OneKey Design has put a lot of thought into designing safety measures to keep the program and data safe, your data. Any CodePage.cdp file with a different license, cannot be accessed in another MyCodePage Authorized version.
When multiple users decide to share one MyCodePage Authorized version, and therefore the same license, the safety and privacy of the individual users cannot be guaranteed.
Sharing the program isn’t impossible, but with CodePage.cdp files running under the same license means that other users are able to access your data as long as they know where your backups are saved. This is of course not desirable and should be avoided at all costs just like sharing your password, any other sensitive information, or your personal computer.
Sharing licenses completely nullify the purpose of using a password manager. Not only is your own personal data at risk, you’re putting the information of the users you’re sharing with at risk as well.
Don’t dig that grave for yourself….or others!
When you are dealing with your personal information be aware that your data could be on display. Especially when you are using the program in public.
The features that allow you to look up your current password (Edit Password) and that of your backup(s) (View Code) are specifically for your eyes only. Treat the information in MyCodePage like any other sensitive information and be mindful.
Always exit out of the program when you are not using it!
Depending on the chosen payment method, the bank might take a few working days at most to process the payment. As soon as the payment is verified, we will process your order. Orders are then processed on the same working day.
This means that under normal circumstances we will deliver your order by the end of the day. We generally process orders and send out emails 3 times a day. Allow extra business days to process orders placed on the weekends or a holiday.
If you never received any emails from us before, our email might be delivered to your spam folder.
Make sure to mark our email as Not Spam and/or add us to your contact list. Our follow up email with your Order Delivery will then show up in your Inbox.
“The file in the selected folder does not match your license. Your instruction is denied.”
This error occurs when the View Code feature is applied to a data file with a license that doesn’t match the license that is currently valid in MyCodePage. In other words, there are two different licenses exchanging data. Obviously this is not attainable for the purpose of security.
Use the correct Codepage.cdp file with the corresponding license of MyCodePage Authorized Version to access the program correctly.
“Unable to execute file: C:\Program (x86)\MyCodePage\Mycp.exe. CreateProcess failed; code740. The requested operation requires elevation.”
By default we have this folder C:\MyCodePage selected in the installation setup wizard. However, when you’ve chosen to install MyCodePage on either C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86), you might encounter this code 740 notice under certain circumstances.
Due to Windows’ more recent security measures installing applications on either C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86) on Windows 10 or 11 can sometimes cause these inconsistencies.
In case you happen to encounter this notice when trying to access MyCodePage please follow the steps below:
“MyCodePage will be shut down as a result of invalid licence OR you need to run it as administrator in some cases. If you installed MyCodePage on Program Files (x86) please follow these steps: right-click on MyCodePage’s desktop icon, then select > Properties > Shortcut Tab > Advanced > check Run as administrator > OK > Apply > OK. When you restart MyCodePage next by double clicking the program’s icon, it will run as usual.”
Invalid License Issue
Use the correct Codepage.cdp file with the corresponding license of MyCodePage Authorized Version to access the program correctly. See also
Run as administrator
Due to Windows’ more recent security measures, issues like these regarding User Account Control and Administrator Rights are increasingly more common.
If you get this error after entering your password to access MyCodePage, close the program first. Go to the program icon on your Desktop and right click on it. Select Properties > Shortcut > Advanced.
In the next window Advanced Properties, select the checkbox Run as administrator, then click OK.
If you get the next window Access Denied: You will need to provide administrator permission to change these settings, select Continue.
Select Apply on the Shortcut tab, then click OK.
Select Yes when asked if you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to
make changes to your device.
You should now be able to access MyCodePage with your password.
In some instances this yellow and blue shield icon will appear on MyCodePage’s shortcut, depending on the security levels of your Windows’ configuration and version. This icon indicates that whichever program it is attached to will require administrator rights to run.
Having this shield icon won’t always affect accessing MyCodePage. But in case it does, this shield icon can be removed.
To remove this shield icon follow these instructions:
The shield icon should now be removed.
This window shows up as soon as MyCodePage Evaluation Version reaches 10 data records. This means you can’t add any new records to the Browser. You can however keep using the Evaluation Version and still edit the existing records. You can use the Evaluation Version for an unlimited time.
If you want to add unlimited records and enjoy MyCodePage’s full security features consider upgrading to the Authorized License here.
